1) Learn AI Basics: The first step in your transition is to build a solid foundation in artificial intelligence. You’ll want to familiarize yourself with the basic concepts of AI, including machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, and natural language processing.


2) Understand Product Development Processes: As a product manager, you already have a strong understanding of product development processes. However, AI product development can be different and may require additional knowledge.


3) Develop Proficiency with AI Tools: Many AI tools are available to help you develop AI solutions. Learning to use these tools effectively can be a key part of your transition.


4) Gain Hands-On Experience: Practical experience is invaluable. Try to get involved in AI projects, either at your current job, through side projects, or by contributing to open-source projects. 


5) Enhance Soft Skills and Communication: AI development isn’t just about technical skills. You’ll also need to be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including engineers, executives, and customers.  


6) Stay Updated with AI Trends and Ethical Considerations: The field of AI is rapidly evolving, and it’s important to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments. You can follow influencers on social media, more on that below
